Occupational Therapy

 

Occupational Therapy works with a wide variety of diagnoses to increase strength, functional skills and promote independence with activities of daily living such as eating, grooming, bathing and dressing. Occupational Therapists place an emphasis on education for the patient and their family and encourage each patient to reach their full potential for safe independent living. Therapists are knowledgeable in establishing therapeutic home programs and providing education on ergonomics, body mechanics, joint protection, energy conservation, adaptive equipment, and help patient’s access community resources to meet their individual needs. They work as part of  a multidisciplinary team designed to maximize an individual’s independence.
